Day 1

Central Valley San José

The standard package starts with pick up in San Jose INT Airport. A private driver will meet your flight and will transfer you to your San Jose hotel Park Inn for a one night stay. The hotels is located close to downtown and many great restaurants.

Turrialba Valley and Volcano rain forest:

Following morning your mid sized SUV will be delivered and you can then start the drive to Turrialba, feel free to go and explore the amazing Irazu Volcano or Orosi valley on your way. late afternoon check in at Hotel Casa Turire for 2 nights in a deluxe Room. The first night you will have time to relax and enjoy an amazing dinner there at the hotel.

Day 3

Turrialba Valley and Volcano rain forest:

On your third day you can choose from a variety of nature trails or local tours offered by the resort, or just relax by the pool or take a stroll around the lake or horse stables. This noght might be good to drive into town and eat at on eof the local restaurants.

Day 4

Travel Puerto Viejo and Pacuare Rafting

On this morning you will need to depart early as you will begin your trek to Puerto Viejo via the famous Pacuare Rafting tour, the tour includes breakfast, lunch, 4 hour rafting trip, safety lockers, after the tour you will continue driving on to Puerto Viejo.

Upon arrival at Banana Azul you will realize that you are in a completely different micro climate than that in Turrialba, the temperature is on average 10 to 15 degrees celsius warmer, but not to worry as Banana Azul has very refreshing swimming pool and is only steps away from the warm Caribbean Sea!.

Return to San José

On your last day you will drive mid afternoon from Banana Azul to the San Jose Hotel Park Inn. Plan on about 5 hours travel time so leave around noon to arrive on time for dinner.

Depart Costa Rica

On this your final day a private driver will pick you up at Park Inn and will transfer you to the INT airport Departure time from hotel will be determined by the time of your departing INT flight. The car can be left there at the hotel and the provider will pick it up that morning or the drop off can be arrange the night before.

Banana Azul is a small hotel north of town beachfront on Playa Negra. This small boutique hotel has been created with care using local products and a philosophy that emphasizes relaxation. Blooming gardens adorn the property, as do several freely-hanging hammocks and a meandering pond inhabited by fish and turtles. There is a restaurant, bar, pool and beach club.

The hotel consists of fourteen beautiful guest rooms with private baths, fans, and free wireless internet. Most rooms are on the second floor of the main building, and open onto a large veranda with sweeping ocean views and of the garden.

– Travel to Arenal

Pick up from Puerto Viejo after breakfast around 6:45am and transfer almost the entire stretch of the Caribbean lowlands, about halfway through the trip you will stop for a few minutes to grab a bite to eat and relax a bit before continuing north into the Caribbean highlands where you will have many photo opts of the amazing landscape.

Upon your arrival you will check in for 2 nights in one of our preferred lodges, we highly recommend San Bosco which offers great rooms at affordable price. or if you want a bit more luxury option you can choose for Arenal Manoa, Silencio del Campo or our personal favorite Arenal Nayara.

– Two amazing tours

The following day you will be picked up at your hotel at 8 AM to visit the La Fortuna waterfall by horseback.

You can also choose a different tour (or more than one). Options include the Arenal Hanging Bridges, the famous Sky Trek/Sky Tram Zipline/Canopy tour,or visit the Lost Canyon on a conyonning adventure!

In the afternoon you will explore the 1968 Trail to learn more about the story of the eruption and get some fantastic views of the volcano. After the hike you can relax in the amazing THE SPRINGS (or you can choose from several other hot spring options in the area). These hot springs are in a tropical garden setting and a great way to unwind from your hike. The night ends with an extensive and delicious dinner.
