Day 1
La Fortuna / Arenal
The standard package starts with pick up in your San Jose Hotel, you will travel by shared shuttle to La Fortuna/Arenal where you will check in to your select hotel for 2 nights.
The first night you will have time to relax and explore the quaint town of La Fortuna which means the fortunate as this town was never in the path of Arenal’s lava flows.

Day 2
Arenal Volcano
On your second day you can choose from a variety of tours, some of the most popular are Horseback Ride to the La Fortuna Waterfall, Hanging Bridges, Sky Trek and Tram, and the most popular tour we offer: INCLUDED the Arenal Volcano Hike and visit to the hot springs with dinner.

Day 3
Puerto Viejo
On day Three you will transfer to Puerto Viejo via the famous Pacuare Rafting tour, the tour includes pick up in in Arenal, breakfast, lunch, 4 hour rafting trip, safety lockers, and onward transportation to Puerto Viejo. Upon your arrival you will check into Banana Azul for a relaxing two night stay in your select room type.
While in Puerto Viejo you can just relax by the pool or at the beach club or take one of the many tours in the area; some of our favorites are the Gandoca Manzanillo Refuge Tour, 3 in 1 Animal Rescue Center Tour, or the very popular Caribbean Canopy Tour.

Day 4
Daily Tour in Puerto Viejo
On your fourth day you can choose from a variety of our local daily tours, Choose from one of the most popular daily tours, like Gandoca Manzanillo on Mondays, Cahuita Nat Park Hike and Lost Waterfall on Tuesday or Thursday, and our most popular Jaguar Rescue Center and Punta Uva Trail Tour on Wednesday and Friday!

Day 5
Return to San Jose
On your last day you will transfer early from Banana Azul to the San Jose International Airport, the departure time selected will be determined by the time of your flight. For very early flight departures a private van may be the only option.

San Bosco Inn is located in the center of La Fortuna, near the Arenal Volcano.. This is the ideal location from which you can explore and enjoy nearby waterfalls, caves, thermal hot springs, and of course the amazing Arenal Volcano.

Banana Azul
Banana Azul is a small hotel north of town beachfront on Playa Negra. This small boutique hotel has been created with care using local products and a philosophy that emphasizes relaxation. Blooming gardens adorn the property, as do several freely-hanging hammocks and a meandering pond inhabited by fish and turtles. There is a restaurant, bar, pool and beach club.
The hotel consists of fourteen beautiful guest rooms with private baths, fans, and free wireless internet. Most rooms are on the second floor of the main building, and open onto a large veranda with sweeping ocean views and of the garden.

Days 5 & 6 – Tortuguero National Park
Tortuguero National Park is located in the Limón Province of northeastern Costa Rica. It is the third-most visited park in Costa Rica, despite the fact that it can only be reached by airplane or boat. The park has incredible biological diversity due to the existence within the reserve of 11 different habitats including rainforest, swamps, beaches and lagoons. Tortuguero National Park has a humid and tropical climate receiving up to 250 inches of rain a year. Its beaches are key nesting grounds for endangered sea turtles, such as Hawksbills, Loggerheads, Green Sea Turtles and Leatherbacks.
The rivers within the park are home to sensitive populations of manatees, as well as caimans, crocodiles, and Tropical Garfish, which are considered to be living fossils. The forests are home to jaguars, three species of monkeys (spider, howler, and white-faced Capuchin), and three-toed sloths. Basilisk lizards and poisonous frogs also inhabit the area, along with 375 species of birds including kingfishers, toucans, blue herons, macaws, and parrots. There are more than 400 species of trees and approximately 2,200 species of plants.
There are a variety of lodges in the area to choose from, all packages include 1 or 2 nights lodging, all meals, guided tours, and pick up and drop off in San Jose, Arenal, or Puerto Viejo.

Day 5 – Travel to Bocas del Toro
After picking you up at your hotel, we will travel by shared shuttle to the border with Panama, you will cross the Rio Sixaola, pass through immigration and then take another shuttle to Almirante where a small passenger boat will take us to Bocastown on Isla Colon. You will have the rest of the day to explore the town on your own.
Day 6 – Full day tour (only on 2 night stay)
You will go on a tour to Cayo Zapatillo, where you can try out deep boarding, the new way to snorkel. The tour includes lunch and snorkeling equipment. After a full day on and in the water, you can enjoy the evening in Bocastown or at your lodge.
Day 7 – Return to Puerto Viejo or San Jose
Morning breakfast, then return to Puerto Viejo at 8am or 12pm, or San Jose at 6am.
