Day 1

Selva Bananito Eco Lodge was named one of the eight best eco lodges in Costa Rica. We have the smallest carbon footprint in the country among similar operations in the tourism sector. Costa Rica Ecotourism’s call for sustainability as the essence of its goal is exemplified by Selva Bananito’s watershed conservation, our commitment to being a source of income for local communities, and our aim to protect the natural resources that we manage. We have 7 spacious standard rooms and 4 even more spacious superior rooms. Each one of our cabins has solar-heated warm water and a tastefully appointed, tiled, and rather an ample restroom and shower area.
Each of our spacious cabins has a full size and a queen-size bed (standard rooms) or two queen-size beds (superior rooms). All of the rooms are separated from each other by at least 30 feet from any other cabin, with “natural walls” of exotic heliconia plants in between them for a secluded, intimate and refined atmosphere.

Puerto Viejo
After breakfast and a short stroll through the lush gardens to take last-minute photos to remind you of the amazing flora & fauna of the area you will be transferred down the hill to relax on the sun drenched beach at Hotel Banana Azul where you will check-in for your 3-night stay. Pick up normally set for 11am-1pm.
Upon arrival at Banana Azul, you will realize that you are in a completely different microclimate than that up at Samasati, the temperature is on average 3 to 5 degrees celsius warmer, but not to worry as Banana Azul has a very refreshing swimming pool and is only steps away from the warm Caribbean Sea!.
Hotel Banana Azul – Adults Only
Banana Azul is a small hotel north of town beachfront on Playa Negra. This small boutique hotel has been created with care using local products and a philosophy that emphasizes relaxation. Blooming gardens adorn the property, as do several freely-hanging hammocks and a meandering pond inhabited by fish and turtles. There is a restaurant, bar, pool, and beach club.
The hotel consists of fourteen beautiful guest rooms with private baths, fans, and free wireless internet. Most rooms are on the second floor of the main building and open onto a large veranda with sweeping ocean views and of the garden.
Day 4
Cahuita Boat, Snorkel & Hiking Trip
Cahuita National Park features the largest coral reefs in Southern Central America as well as great hiking trails with lots of wildlife. This trip combines a boat ride, snorkeling, and hiking. First, you will have a ride in a boat to Punta Cahuita. Once at the point, you can put on snorkel gear to explore firsthand the “underwater tropical forest”. You will then land for a guided rainforest hike, with comprehensive information on this particular area. Monkeys, sloth, several reptiles, frogs, and beautiful insects are common sights. Round trip transportation to Cahuita with pick up/drop off at your hotel in Puerto Viejo is included.
